Cason Development Group is a commercial real estate development firm located in South Carolina, and focused on small to midsize development projects in the Columbia area as well as tenant-focused development outside Columbia.

Our Team

Frank Cason

Frank Cason is the President of Cason Development Group. Having been in commercial real estate for over 16 years Frank has worked in markets all along the east coast. Frank began his career at Colliers International where he worked as a senior brokerage associate for over eight years and became one of the company’s top producers. In 2012 Frank joined Cypress Real Estate Partners where he was the Vice President of Development, focusing on new development projects for the company. He worked with national retailers to expand in the Maryland, Delaware and Connecticut markets. In 2015 Frank started Cason Development Group with a focus on expanding national and local retailers as well as opportunistic redevelopment projects in the South Carolina market. Since 2015 Cason Development Group has developed projects for a number of national retailers to include Taco Bell, Burger King, Dollar General, Sherwin Williams, Express Oil and Golden Corral. Locally, Cason Development Group has been proud to be involved in new retail and restaurant projects featured multiple times in publications like Garden & Gun and Food & Wine Magazine (The War Mouth and Indah Coffee) as well as multiple Historic Preservation awards. Frank is an active member at First Presbyterian Church and has served in numerous leadership roles inside the church including as an Elder and a Deacon, chair of the property committee, chair of the media committee, pastoral search committee, and officer nominating committee. He and his wife, Kristin, have three children.

Taylor Wolfe

Taylor Wolfe joined Cason Development Group in January of 2020 after nearly 5 years with Colliers International. Throughout his career Taylor has worked with several top national retailers and brings those experiences and relationships to the team at CDG. His primary focus includes sourcing new development opportunities, site selection and market analysis for clients throughout the Southeast. Taylor is an active member of both the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute. In addition, Taylor sits on the board of the Design / Development Review Commission for the City of Columbia. Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Taylor graduated from the University of South Carolina. Outside of work, Taylor enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, hunting and cheering on the Gamecocks any chance he gets.

Frank Dougherty
Development Associate

Frank began working with Cason Development Group in August of 2016 after earning his bachelor’s degree in Real Estate from the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business. His main responsibilities include leasing and management of all Cason Real Estate Holdings properties as well as assisting in all facets of the development process from site selection to construction closeout. Frank has recently managed the construction upfits for several CRE tenants in downtown Columbia. Originally from Charleston, Frank’s hobbies include golf, boating, traveling and watching sports.

William Kitchens
Development Associate

Will began work as a full-time Development Associate at Cason Development Group in the summer of 2019 after working as an intern with CDG in 2017. Will graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina Honors College with a bachelor’s degrees in Real Estate and Accounting in 2018. Will’s duties include financial underwriting, asset management and budget preparation, as well as working in the acquisition, development and leasing processes. Will grew up in Columbia, SC and enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, tennis, and watching Gamecock athletics.

Laurin Headley
Executive Assistant

Laurin joined Cason Development Group, LLC in September 2020 after working as the director of children’s ministry for a local church, teaching and managing her household for the past 16 years. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Winthrop University in 2005. In addition to her operations management role with Cason Development, Laurin assists with bookkeeping, marketing, research, and preparation of development proposals.
In her spare time, Laurin loves to spend time in the kitchen, with her dogs, watching baseball, college football and anything with her family. Laurin and her husband, Ian, have 4 children who keep their hands full in the very best way.
