Cason Development Group is a commercial real estate development firm located in South Carolina, and focused on small to midsize development projects in the Columbia area as well as tenant-focused development outside Columbia.

Our Team

Frank Cason
Owner

Frank Cason brings over 10 years of experience to his new venture having worked as a senior brokerage associate for eight years with Colliers-Keenan, now Colliers International, and the last two and a half years with Cypress Real Estate Partners purchasing and developing retail projects valued at more than $30 million. He has deep roots in Columbia’s business and development community, his great-grandfather Joseph Walker having developed the Forest Hills neighborhood in the late 1920s. He is an active member at First Presbyterian Church and has served in numerous leadership roles inside the church including the board of Deacons, pastoral search committee, and officer nominating committee.

Hannah Thickens
Executive Assistant

Hannah Thickens joined the team as Executive Assistant; she contributes to office organization and administration; with background in human resources and operations management she assists with the day-to-day in the office. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business and Organizational Leadership from Columbia International University. In addition to her operations management role with Cason Development, Hannah assists with marketing, research, and preparation of development proposals.
In her spare time, Hannah enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband Joe, doing creative projects and cooking. Hannah and Joe are active members of Shandon Baptist Church.

Frank Dougherty
Development Coordinator

Frank began working with Cason Development Group in August of 2016 after earning his bachelor’s degree in Real Estate from the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business. His main responsibilities include leasing and property management of all Cason Real Estate holdings as well as assisting in all facets of the development process from site selection to construction closeout. Originally from Charleston, Frank’s hobbies include playing golf, boating, watching sports, and spending time with friends.

John T. Metts
Development Associate

Cason Development Group grew the team with an additional member as a Development Associate. John Metts previously worked in commercial real estate brokerage where he focused on shopping center representation and site selection. John’s role within the Cason Development Group is to find new development opportunities and build new tenant relationships. He is a Columbia native and graduated Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina as a student athlete.
